No7 Instant Radiance Concealer £13.50

This is brilliant , firstly its matched to your’e skin tone and secondly its creamy light reflecting formula makes under eye bags disappear in an instant ! At £13.50 its no where near the cheapest under eye concealer out there but this does the job brilliantly and with the current vouchers for No7 offering £3  off make up and buy 1 get one half price it works out at a real bargain . But hurry the voucher expires tomorrow (01/02/15)

L’Oreal Paris Color Infallible eye shadow in 021 Sahara Treasure £6.99

This high pigmented pressed pigment eye shadow is just genius ! It feels so soft and nearly creamy but lasts for 24 hours and the shade I have is a truly wonderful antiqued gold , it makes my green / hazel eyes look very green and dazzling !

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation £6.99

Another great drug store foundation for the price point , I use this when I need a little more coverage than my BareSkin foundation . It lasts all day and delivers a medium coverage even without powder on my oily / combination skin . My only niggle about this foundation is the smell , it is quite perfumed , which doesn’t irritate my skin but I’m not overly keen on it .

Dkny Red Delicious Women Eau De Parfum £45 for 50ml

I received this as a Christmas gift from a very kind friend and I love it , there hasn’t been a day since I got given it when I haven’t worn it 🙂 . It is a fresh spring / summery scent with notes of apple , rose and vanilla pod , I get so many compliments on this fragrance ans when it runs out ( 😦  ) I will be repurchasing ❤

MakeUp Revolution London Awesome Double Flick Liquid Eye liner £3.50

This felt tip style eye liner delivers a super black line with incredible staying power , the beauty of this eye liner is the dual ended tips . One end is thin for a more precise line and the other is thicker for a winged line or a generally thicker line . The lasting power is pretty good for a liquid liner but if I’m using this and going out I always take it with me for touch ups .

I hope you enjoyed this post , I would love to know your favourite products of January 2015 .

Until next time stay happy , healthy , beautiful and true to yourself 🙂 ❤

Non Beauty Favourites January 2015

Wow , just wow , the first month of the year is nearly over which means only one ting , its favourites time !

So January has been a busy but nice month with being at uni enjoying lectures and way too much Costa coffee 😉 , looking after my nephew who’s 9 months and some coursework thrown in for good measure ! Any how let me get started ………

Books

– The Prince by Sylvain Reynard ( A Gabriel’s Inferno Florentine series novella ) . I loved this and thoroughly recommend if you like Gabriel’s Inferno , Rapture and Redemption .

Drink

– Lavazza Prontissimo Instant coffee , perfect first thing in the morning when you need a caffeine kick to get you started .

– Strawberry Daquaries , I rediscovered my love for these when I went out for some amazing Jamaican food with a friend , surely it would be rude not to have a rum cocktail in a Jamaican restaurant ? 😉

Food

– Cinnabon , I discovered a store on a recent trip away and I had forgotten how amazing these are ! For those of you who are like ‘what the hell is cinnabon ?’  , it is amazing cinnamon rolls covered in creme cheese frosting 🙂

– Yoghurts , yes a weird one I know but I’m currently loving yoghurt ! Whether it be fruit or something sweet like toffee , I can’t get enough of these !

Items I can’t live without

– My kindle fire has been a Godsend for me , I’ve been travelling quite a but this month so this has provided many an hour or 3 worth of reading or playing the dreaded Candy Crush

– My tartan blanket scarf has saved me and a few of my friends from freezing to death in lecture halls to nights out when I have used it around my shoulders , I got mine in Primark for a bargain of £4.50 and it is super soft 🙂

Person

– My best friend Dex , has been amazing the last few months (and always ) . He knows exactly how to cheer me up and make me laugh .

Music

– I love Paramore’s ‘Hate to see your’e heart break ‘ and Gabrielle Aplin ‘ The power of love’ , as well as the usual suspects London Grammar 🙂

Until Next time stay happy , healthy , beautiful and true to yourself 🙂 ❤

Review ; Lush ‘Unicorn Horn’ Bubble Bar

Hello my lovelies , today I am back with a review of one Lush’s new bubble bars ‘unicorn horn’ I was instantly attracted to this when I went into my local store to check out the Valentines collection . Its shape , colour and sparklyness  (?!) , and the smell wow , I love it . It is not too overpowering but gives off the delicious scent of neroli and lavender which is perfect for an evening / bedtime bath .

DSC_0943 with and without flashDSC_0944

I used only half of this for the bath pictured and it was enough of bubbles for me but you whatever your’e personal preference is be warned these produce a fair amount of bubbles . The water turns beautifully shimmery with silver sparkles and the candy stars sink to the bottom making the bottom of the tub look like a starry sky , its a truly magically experience ! This is definitely going on my list of favourite Lush products 🙂

Review – L’oreal L’Extraordinaire By Color Riche / Liquid Lipsticks

Hello , so as you have probably gathered by now I am an absolute sucker for lip products whether it be lip balm . lip gloss , lip stain or lipstick , oh how I love lip stick !

So when the hype started about liquid lipsticks needless to say I was very intrigued to try some . I hunted around my local Boots for weeks trying to make a decision and these were what I brought and at £8.99 each I had high hopes . I own 2 shades  , the first one I brought was 500 Molto Mauve and I loved it so much I returned and brought 101 Rose Melody . The first thing I love these about these is the packaging , they are very chic and classy looking and I love the fact that there is a handy ‘window’ that shows you what colour the product is .

DSC_0924

L’Oreal claim L’Extraordinaire to  ; have the softness of a balm , the colour intensity of a lipstick and the magnifying shine of a gloss and its all thanks to a blend of luxurious micro oils infused with rich pigments .

Surprisingly these live up to the hype , although they are slightly more stickier than i first expected but all the same I LOVE these . The shades that I have are beautiful and are perfect for everyday wear and look great with a smokey eye look . The doe foot applicator on these liquid lipsticks deposit the right amount of product without making your’e lips look goopey . I mean who likes strings of thick lip gloss between your’e lips when they are talking ?

DSC_0927  Molto Mauve  DSC_0917

They have a scent to them which I can only describe as fruity and floral , it’s not strong but it is noticeable .

DSC_0929Rose Melody DSC_0913

These are perfect for spring with there beautifully natural shades .  If you buy any of these be sure to send me a photo and let me know what you think 🙂

Until next time stay happy , healthy , beautiful and true to yourself 🙂 ❤

Review ; Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Well hello there , welcome back , today i have a review of Maybelline’s latest mascara ‘Lash Sensational’ , this little blighter was hard to track down . I spied last week in a Boots store near me but didn’t pick it up as I was in a rush , thinking every store would have it i left it behind and boy what a mistake that was ! I only found this mascara again nearly a week later , neither of my local Boots or Superdrug stores had this i actually found it in my local Asda and even then I wasn’t looking. Any who , this mascara retails for £6.00 which is pretty average for a drug store mascara , we all know how much I love Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara so this new mascara had a lot to live up too . And what can I say it doesn’t disappoint , in fact I think I might even like this one better (sorry rocket ! 😦  )

DSC_0869

The brush is curved and catches are the little lashes that most mascaras miss , the application is effortless and makes your’e lashes look long and defined . And what’s even better is that its not waterproof but it doesn’t transfer under my eye or smudge through out the day . WIN , WIN !

DSC_0870

You can build up this mascara too , even when its dry but just be careful you don’t use too much product on the second coat . Lash Sensational reminds me of Urban Decays Perversion mascara but coming in at only £6 its a brilliant bargain ! Removal is easy too with no rubbing or pulling at your’e lovely lashes this comes off without fuss  .

Beauty Haul 17/01/1015

Hello  and welcome back to my blog , I hope you are enjoying the weekend 🙂

Today I am here to share with you my first beauty haul of 2015 , the things I picked up come from a range of places so I will specify where each item comes from as I go along . Grab a cup of coffee / wine , time depending on when you are reading this and enjoy !

DSC_0873_20150117163310170

First up is …………… 2 new additions to my Rimmel Salon Pro nail polish family . I picked these up in my local Poundland so I’m guessing these could be discontinued shades ?! My favourite of the 2 has to be 361 Acid House , its a beautiful emerald colour with fine emerald shimmer , this would be a great shade for St Patrick’s day . The second shade is 393 Desire which is a deep scarlet / burgundy colour with a subtle shimmer , awesome shade for Valentines day ! Both of these polishes needed 2 coats to get the best colour pay off and a top coat to ensure long wearing ! Love these 🙂

DSC_0877

Another nail polish ….. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail paint in Rose Hip £3.99 . A wonderfully girly pastel pink shade perfect for spring / easter, this longs amazing and wears well but also needs 2 coats .

Maybelline Lash Sensational lash multiplying mascara in Black , after scowering my local Boots and Superdrug for weeks with no joy I finally managed to get one at my local Asda (Wallmart ) for £6.00 , I have  worn this a few times and really like it , a full review will be up soon 🙂 .

DSC_0880

Bare Minerals Bare Skin pure brightening serum foundation £26, I got matched at my local counter and mine is shade ; Bare Linen 03 . a full review is already up on this little gem .

DSC_0848

Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion £2.99 , I got my first bottle of this back in October and consequently my first bottle will feature in my Empties video coming soon ! I use this to remove all my make up before using my face wash , I use a few cotton pads to ensure my face is make up free , it leaves you’re skin tingling and fresh .

DSC_0876_20150117163524733

Clean and Clear Spot Control Daily wash – fast action £4.99 ,my skin has been going bananas thanks to my Christmas blow out , so I use this daily in the shower after my deep cleansing lotion mentioned above , a 2p since amount will go a long way and this product foams up well when applied to wet skin . I brought this along with the cleansing lotion last year too so another empty to add my collection !

DSC_0875

Superdrug Cleansing eye make up remover pads 99p , my beloved Johnson’s eye make up remover pads weren’t in stock so I got these instead . They do the job buy the pads are a lot thinner than the Johnson’s ones and aren’t as wet , they get the job done but I will definitely repurchasing my old reliable’s once these are done.

Well that’s my beauty haul , have you brought any new products recently and can you recommend any ? Please leave them in the comments . Until next time stay happy , healthy , beautiful and true to yourself 🙂 ❤

Bare Minerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Review

Hello and happy new year , I hope the year is treating you well so far . I’m back today with a review of Bare Mineral Bare Skin foundation , this is long over due review and I have been meaning to do this for a while as I finished my sample back in November . And as you can probably guess , I loved the sample so much I went and splurged and brought the full size version , at £26 its not cheap but its definitely worth it .

Firstly you don’t need a lot of this foundation to make you’re skin look amazing and flawless so it will last for ages as well as blending seamlessly into you’re skin , secondly it lasts very well on my combination / oily skin, although I set it with a light dusting of translucent power . And lastly it has SPF20 , decent sun protection with no flash back .

DSC_0848  What are the claims for this product ?

Our first ever pure brightening serum foundation. Ultra thin, silky texture – one to two weightless fluid drops transform, soften and smooth the appearance of your complexion. Supercharged Lilac Plant Stem Cells and Vitamin C help to reveal brighter, more even-looking skin tone. Non-chemical SPF 20. Hypoallergenic. Non-comedgenic. Dermatologist tested. 1-2 Drops = Sheer Coverage, 3-4 Drops = Medium Coverage and 5-6 Drops = Full Coverage.

Proven to improve the appearance of dark spots, skin brightness & texture. Based on an independent U.S. clinical study of 94 women after 8 weeks of use.

I love how this makes my skin look and feel , its natural looking and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin . I use a Real Techniques contour brush to apply it and it blends quickly with minimal effort required , BE CAREFUL when applying this product to the back of your hand , it is very thin and can make a mess if your not careful . It reminds me of MAC face and body in the way that its such a watery consistency but delivers an amazing amount of coverage and it also smells nice too .

I have tried a number of different primers , but none of them overly make a difference on staying power  . I usually use my Olay moisturiser as my primer , letting it absorb into my skin for 10 mins ( time permitting 😉 ) before application of foundation .
